I gave up trying to keep them out... bought ...Cute! I gave up trying to keep them out... bought an open feeder at Lowe's, it's like a tray 12X10 and the birds and squirrels share. Really I think I've used less seed this way than the tube feeders. I mix wild bird seed, sunflower and deer corn + leftover cereals, crackers, party mix (yes, I do!) even cookies and graham crackers!
