This blog is a visual record of my outings into the streams, lakes and forests of Tennessee and North Carolina by canoe, motor boat and motorcycle. I love photography and use that venue to record wildlife and wilderness scenes for my personal enjoyment. I enjoy writing short stories also and do so while out in the forests or on the lakes. I also am addicted to dogs as will be apparent as you read my blog. But, the canoe is my favorite means of escape and wilderness camping is a joy.

RUSTIC SCENES
I'm trying to get on here more but time is not cooperating. This transition from Winter to Spring has been a very busy one. I have been planting flowers and trees almost every day and rebuilding an old 1953 Ferguson tractor at the same time and holding down a job too. After the things are all planted and the tractor is painted I think things will settle a lot and I can return to wildlife photography and writing. Anyway - here are a few shots that are fairly current. Hope you like them.

WILD FLOWER VARIATIONS
I tried to incorporate wood (bark), moss, stone and grasses along with the flowers in order to heighten their interesting features and to ward off a boring view. Where possible, I have two or more colors sharing the same shot. This will be the last of the flowers for awhile so I hope you enjoy them while they are here. All these shots were taken with the 500 mm telephoto from the truck seat. That lens will reach far up into the forest.
