THE HUNGRY HERON

Great blue herons can swallow incredible size fish.  I startled this guy who was just getting ready to gulp down his lunch when I rounded the corner with the boat and startled him.  Off he flew with his lunch.  I guess one could say he got food to go..

HUMMINGBIRD MOTHS ARE BACK.

If you have butterfly bushes, you will enjoy watching these amazing critters.  Look closely though because this moth resembles a hummingbird in many ways and fools many folks annually.

They are back and are most welcome.  The hummingbirds have finally returned and they brought friends.  Some of the varieties of hummers are unique to this valley.  Lots of pics so hope you enjoy them.

This bird has something attached to its foot.  Appears to be down of some sort. He can't rid himself of it because he's had it attached all day.

Sure hope this little guy can dump that fluff on his foot.
